IACAT/Dance Ireland Collaborative Workshop : Writing the Language of the Body

This exciting workshop was a collaboration between IACAT and Dance Ireland, exploring the relationship between body, movement and creativity. Through a dual focus on somatic experience and writing, the day centered on the creative insights which arise out of a generative encounter between the experential with textual and provides space to consider and structure these ideas.
IACAT Journal Workshop : Unlocking Your Writing Potential

Dr. Maggie O'Neill, Co-Editor of the IACAT Journal, presented this hugely popular workshop which was held in Cork earlier this year. The workshop was designed to help members develop and enhance their writing skills. Attendees were given a range of practical tools and tips to help their writing skills and fine tune their articles and journal submissions.
IACAT Tax and Vat Workshop for Therapists

This workshop was aimed at giving participants a clear understanding of their responsibilities as self-employed therapists and an understanding of how their business fits into the VAT and income tax system.
IACAT AGM 2019

The annual IACAT AGM took place on 26th May in Portloaise with a well attended networking evening the night before. Along with IACAT business, members heard presentations on Wellbeing in the Junior Cycle from Norrie Louise Ross, Eco-Psychotherapy from Robert Lewis and Matthew Henson, Technology in Creative Therapies from Rowena Keavney and a skype presentation on Trauma Treatment with CAT's from Dr. David Read Johnson.

IACAT Spring Symposium
Saturday 26th April
The first ever IACAT Spring Symposium took place on Saturday 26th April. Participants had the opportunity to experience three workshops and a closing session within each half day period. The event was attended by over 80 creative arts therapists, arts therapy trainees, psychotherapists and other interested parties, making it one of our largest ever events. We are very grateful for the support of IMMA in staging the day.

Following on last year's theme What Does Sexuality Mean to Us, Process Day 2019 focussed on the issue of Consent which was explored via music, movement, art and optional body painting. The day was facilitied by Margherita La Goia, Mary O'Neill, Mary O'Doherty and Liam Plant.
